Overview

Kartboken is operated by Jonas Värbrand Consulting AB. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled in Kartboken for iOS (the “App”).

What data we collect

We collect and process the following information when you use the App:

• Account information — your email address and the details you provide when creating an account.
• Content you create — your collections and the map content you add to them.
• Location information — only when you grant permission. Your location is used to show your position on the map. It is not stored unless you explicitly choose to save it as part of a annotation.

We do not collect analytics or tracking data. Mapbox may process limited technical data when you view maps or perform searches; this is described in the Third-party services section.

App Analytics

To help us understand how people use the App and improve it, we use anonymous analytics information provided by App Store Connect. This includes generic usage, transaction, and performance statistics that are completely anonymous and cannot identify you personally.

How and why we use your data

We use your data only to provide the core functionality of the App:

• To authenticate you and manage your account.
• To store your collections, annotations, and attachments.
• To sync your data across your devices.
• To provide offline access to your data.
• To display your location and map content.

We retain your data only for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, all stored personal data is permanently removed.

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or automated decision‑making.

Third‑party services

The App uses a small set of external services to provide cloud storage, syncing, maps, search, and geocoding. These services process data on our behalf as described below.

Supabase (EU Region)

We use Supabase for authentication, database storage (collections and annotations), and file storage (image attachments).
Our Supabase project is hosted in the EU region, but Supabase may transfer data as described in their own policy.

PowerSync Cloud (EU Region)

We use PowerSync Cloud to sync your data between devices. Our PowerSync project is hosted in the EU region. PowerSync handles synchronization but does not permanently store your data.

Mapbox (Maps, Search, and Geocoding)

The App uses Mapbox’s iOS SDKs for map rendering, search, and geocoding.

When you interact with maps or perform searches, Mapbox may receive limited technical information such as:

• your IP address
• basic device/app information
• tile requests and map interactions
• search queries

Mapbox Maps SDK telemetry is enabled by default. Mapbox does not receive your personal map objects, notes, or attachments. Mapbox processes this data as an independent controller and may process it outside the EU under its own safeguards.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your data
• Request correction or deletion
• Request restriction of processing
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent (for location access) at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
